Unapologetically creative; I have been a professional photographer since 2012.
"Grit, Grace and Hustle" is my life motto. I'm committed to constant learning through audiobooks and podcasts; and I invite any adults who haven't misplaced their imagination into my tribe of misfit toys. #MarthatheTRex (on IG) will greet you at the door.
My love of photography is evident in my work. However, my love of people is evident in the relationship you'll have with me... and as much as I love my work, I love the bond that I develop with my clients even more. And that's what makes my pictures amazing.
I'm totally a marketing nerd; a research hound; and networking is my jam.
There's a misconception that branding is only about your visuals (logo, website, colors, etc). But that's not true!! It's about your messages; your core values; your WHY; and your ideal clients. If we try to do the visuals before all of the other stuff, you're going to be running in circles. Lucky for you - I love branding!!
When I'm not behind the camera, I'm either hanging out with my amazing friends, or I'm out in nature - adventuring till my heart is content. So if you follow my IG, you'll see a lot of sunrise and macro nature photos too - because they make my heart happy.
"Figure out who you are, and then do it on purpose". ~ Dolly Parton
So... about Martha... She is my pet, sidekick, and mascot. She's a stowaway at my client sessions, she loves desserts and coffee, and she'll pose with whoever will pay attention to her. She also loves field trips to the zoo, COSI and anything else she thinks she can get away with. (Yes, I have a huge imagination, and I'm not afraid to use it).
I LOVE to encourage all adults who have lost their way - to live their BEST life... live out your calling, whatever that might be. Life is too short to live an average life - claim this life as YOURS; and live life on your own terms!
Why be ordinary, when you can be a little... extra?!
Photography was my first form of artistic expression - long before I ever started doing it for commission. Below are a few of my favorites from over the years:
I was in choirs in college and majored in art... but just singing off key is entertaining, so is drawing crazy stuff like an elephant with an umbrella near a tornado (actually there's a story of rebellion behind that painting - you'l have to ask about it later).
