I am one of those crazy people that not only make ambitious goals every year, but I keep to them. And this year, 2020, is no different. Wow are my goals lofty... and dare I say, scary!! But honestly, if my goals don't scare me, then they are probably not big enough! So, what are these goals? Well, besides my normal goals of weddings, fitness and family photography... Here's just a few that you'll be seeing pop up soon: + Teaching IG workshops to local business owners + Lead Styled Shoots for Wedding Photography (& teach bridal party posing with OCF) + Help local business owners with their branding + Teaching Photography workshops/classes (both online and in-person) + Do Photography field trips + Lead Styled Shoots for Conceptual Portrait Photography (specifically my fairytales) Below is my first Instagram workshop, slated for Feb. 5, 2020. If you click on it, it will take you to the EventBrite page: So why am I making this shift?? Before I started my photography business, I was a teacher. I've taught: elementary, middle school, technical college, and adult community classes. And I miss teaching. I've always been pretty good at taking difficult subjects and breaking them down into bite-sized chunks of information. And although I love, love, love working with kids (especially photographing them); I like teaching adults better. Although I'm posting about this here... I've also started a new website called, "Confidently Creative" (but the website is under the url of www.SarahVara.com). Sarah Vara was my nickname growing up, because my last name is so hard for people to pronounce... and because, c'mon - it rhymes :) I cannot take credit for it though, one of the moms in my church came up with it. I find it super exciting to set scary goals and then watch myself pursue them one step at a time. I don't do it alone though... I have a very small group (there's 3 of us) that Zoom video call (it's like Skype) EVERY week to check in on our goals and push each other forward. It's having this accountability group, and then awesome friends that push me to accomplish everything and.
Hold onto your hats!! We're coming in hot this year :)
