Amy actually booked me a long time ago... well over a year ago for her June 2019 wedding. But instead of just meeting once to chat, and then meeting again to book, and waiting until an engagement session to meet up again; she and I meet up every now and then for coffee dates - just because we clicked as friends. I do tell my clients up front that I am going to keep them as friends afterwards... but it's very rare that THEY claim me as friends before their wedding day!!! By the time we did their engagement session, I knew Amy very well. But I finally got a chance to meet Derick as well. Like most of my grooms-to-be, he told me that he doesn't really like pictures. (And as always, in my head, I think, "challenge accepted"). Now I'm going to take a time out and being a little more honest than I should probably be: not all of our pictures turned out well. But as a good photographer, I won't give you ALL of the photos. I do something called "culling" - which basically means that I remove any photos that don't compliment you in the best way. I want you to LOVE your pictures - so I only give you the photos that I'm proud of. I love that Amy is so playful! We found a giant pile of leaves and Amy started throwing them up in the air. This took several tries... and funny bloopers of the leaves flying into their mouths but I finally got this one. Love their reactions!!! I always ask, "so how did you two meet?" And 7/10 the answer is like Amy & Derick's - "online". So, yes, online dating does work. These two are proof of that. Can't wait to photograph their wedding on June 8, 2019!!
If you are about to get engaged, or engaged and still looking for a photographer, I'm still taking weddings for 2019. To see my wedding portfolio, click here.

Jennifer and I first met in a past career, when I was working as a Marketing Coordinator... she was my go-to girl that I just had to talk to every morning. So I was thrilled when she asked me to help her celebrate her 25th Anniversary with her husband, Denny. Can you tell how adorable these two are?? Seriously... their love is still going strong after raising 2 kids, and 25 years of marriage! They chose to come back to the Church of the Holy Spirit on Kenyon College's campus in Gambier, Ohio. We spent a lot of time walking around the church, exploring all of the nooks and crannies. Near the end, I told Denny to whisper a secret in Jennifer's ear... it's one of my favorite things to do. For this last photo, I caught the seconds directly after she told him to be "good". They are both laughing at what might have been said. This couple was a delight to work with!! They were equally laid back, and young at heart. I hope you enjoyed being a witness to their love.
